Sensational

England Cricket Team has performed sensationally in the recently played ODI series against Australia. England has defeated Australia by an efficient margin of 4-0 in that series and climbed up to no. 3 in the ICC ODI rankings. Everything seemed to go well for England in that series. The batsmen as well as the bowlers have done their jobs. England looked a stabilized side in that series.

After the retirement of Nick Knight and the strange exit of Marcus Trescothick from international cricket, England has struggled to find a stable opening pair. With consecutive centuries of Kevin Pietersen in the Pakistan series, it seemed that England has found out an attacking opening batsman. But, with the retirement of Pietersen from the limited overs cricket, the problem of having a profound opening batsman again arose. But, with Ian Bell’s impressive performance in the Australia series, England seems to find out a sound opening pair in Ian Bell and Alistair Cook.

Apart from the opening slot, the middle order seemed to be performing quite well. Jonathan Trott has always been Mr. Reliable. Ravi Bopara has shown in this series that he is an improved player now. He played with a lot of responsibility and always took it upon himself to play till the end. Eoin Morgan has shown that he is one of the world’s most explosive batsmen in ODI cricket at the moment.

Steve Finn turned out to be a find for England in this series. He bowled with a lot of pace and was touching the mark of 90 miles per hour more often than not. With Keiswetter batting at 6 and Bresnan batting at 7, England has enough fire power in the lower middle order. With a stabilized top order, attacking lower middle order and experienced pace attack, England seems to be going in the right way as far as the one day cricket is concerned.
